Here’s to celebrating books that strike my fancy every week!

Absolutely Almost by Lisa Graff- ARC, Realistic Fiction, 3rd grade and up, a read aloud must. Release date: June 12th, 2014.
Finally.  Finally I have a gorgeous book that answers the question, “do you have anything similar to Wonder?” This book is gorgeous, you don’t necessarily change character perspectives but you do have the opportunity to visit with a thoughtful character and see inside the head of someone who is struggling academically, he is not necessarily a dyslexic child but one who doesn’t succeed, even when he tries and applies himself. Some things are above him and he’ll just take a little longer to grow and learn in comparison to his peers. Watching how he deals with a mom and dad who really are clueless about how to communicate and treat a child, even if they mean well, and how he innocently makes friends and learns how to retain friends, trust others, and additionally NOT trust others is quite powerful. I plan to reread this soon with my son, also adding this treasure to my book order list for as soon as it is available for purchasing, and also, highly recommend you check out Absolutely Almost, wow, took me a day to recover from this book!

About Pull up a chair, it’s a Saturday Book Share: I’ve had many books I review that I just want to feature. Simple and easy, celebrate a new book encounter. So that’s what Saturday Book Share is about for me, celebrating books! Perhaps some days I’ll share the book with a short reading of a portion. Or perhaps other days I’ll just share a glimpse of the book.
